Many regular golfers are still of the opinion that
electric golf trolleys are designed with the more mature golfer in mind. This is not the case as its use offers many advantages to golfers of all ages.
Electric golf trolleys allow golfers to enjoy and improve their golf experience and should no longer be considered an expensive luxury golfing accessory. Even for the recreational golfer, golf trolleys are useful because there is no need to carry your golf clubs and accessories around the course, so you are able to conserve your energy and focus on the overall game itself.
Although golf is not considered to be a cardiovascular sport it is a great way to get in shape and burn–off calories. It is, however an endurance activity because every 18-hole round requires anywhere from three to five hours of walking and swinging the club. Although carrying a golf bag burns more calories there is the risk of muscle fatigue and strains versus golfers who play using a golf trolley.
The scientist, Neil Wolkodoff, the director of the Rose Center for Health and Sports Sciences in Denver, Colorado conducted a study to prove that golf is a sport with all the calorie-burning and physical benefits of many other sporting activities. He concluded that walking the course with a push trolley, caddie or with an electric golf trolley produced lower average golf scores than riding in a cart. Walking while carrying one's own bag yielded the highest average scores, however, which is likely to do with the extra physical exertion required. That causes the golfer to tire more quickly and also, Wolkodoff surmises, increase instances of lactic acid build-up in the muscles. When lactic acid increases, fine motor skills decrease, and fine motor skills are what are required for the precise motions of the golf swing. Golf Trolley Reduces Risk of Lower Back Injuries
Golf is a sport, but probably not the only sport you would need to play if you really want to get fit. Golf does require muscle strength and co-ordination so to perform at a high level, diminish fatigue and to play better golf, it is advised to supplement golf with other forms of cardiovascular, muscle strengthening exercises such as cycling, running, tennis, swimming or regular gym workouts.
